Hello
I am trying to find out what my dad did exactly while he was in the Navy. He never talked about it and all I have to go on is that he was in Pensacola Preflight Class 1948 V5 program from June 1948 to ? He was a Midshipman and I think later an Ensign. I am curious if anyone has any information or knew him during this time.
I have attached a photo taken on Sept 4 1948. The back of the photo says "Midshipman R.D. Anderson and Navy SNJ Trainer just before an indoctrinational hop." See attached.
If anyone could help out or point me in the correct direction that would be great. I have contacted the National Personal Records Center and all that I got back from them was his enlistment records and various active/inactive orders to attend college. Would like to know more about his duty in the Navy.
